Tehran Municipality honors crew members of acclaimed documentary ‘No Place for Angels’.

Tehran Municipality has honored crew members of the acclaimed Iranian documentary ‘No Place for Angels’.

The Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC) announced that the crew members were honored by the Tehran Municipality during a special ceremony at Milad Tower.

The documentary which is about the national Iranian women’s hockey team was screened during the ceremony which was attended by Tehran Mayor, DEFC director and the members of the hockey team.

“The film is remarkably good and energetic, and I was highly impressed by it,” the mayor said after watching the documentary.

He also noted that “It is really attractive for me that the documentary features the ability of Iranian sportswomen, and I promise to give them a sports hall to do their practicing and go on to achieve greater victories.”

“Therefore, the Tehran Municipality will do its best as much as possible to support the national Iranian women’s hockey team,” he pointed out.

The mayor added that Tehran Municipality will provide support for the documentary to be screened for the public.

Directed by Sam Kalantari and produced by Mohammad Shakibania, the doc that has been shot over three years depicts the hardships women go through to achieve their success in their sports field.

The filmmaker has accompanied the Iranian women ice-hokey team on their various games in South Korea and France.

The film, in fact, means to show that anyone can get what they want if they work hard enough for that.

‘No Place for Angels’ won the special jury award at the 13th Cinéma Vérité, Iran’s major documentary film festival, in December 2019.

It also received the Crystal Simorgh for best documentary at the 38th Fajr Film Festival in Tehran.
